Fragile is Yes's fourth studio album, recorded at Advision Studios in London in the fall of 1971 and released on Atlantic in January 1972 in the US. It opens with "Roundabout," the band's breakthrough single, and includes four additional solo showcase pieces — one from each remaining member — alongside group compositions like "South Side of the Sky" and "Heart of the Sunrise." Rick Wakeman's first appearance with the band, the album marked Yes's arrival as a defining progressive rock act.

This is an original US first pressing on Atlantic Records, SD 7211.

The lacquer carries a -A designation on both sides — the first lacquer cut for this pressing.

The lacquer was cut by George Peckham, the noted mastering engineer whose "Porky" signature is hand-etched into the runout of Side 1.

Front cover carries Roger Dean's watercolor planet artwork with the Fragile logo; the back cover continues the scene with Dean's flying fish-and-dirigible illustration.

Green label with the Atlantic "pinwheel" logo and red lower half, correct for the original 1972 issue.

Original printed inner sleeve present, carrying the "From the Atlantic Catalog" ad panel on the reverse.

Gatefold interior features full lyrics and complete credits, including instrumentation and production details.
