What you are looking at is a pristine piece of Montana's regional music history—a pressed batch of 45s mailed straight from the Monarch factory floor in California to a resort venue in White Sulphur Springs over 60 years ago!
These are considered “DEAD STOCK” condition = meaning that in the vinyl world, these are considered "deadstock" copies. They have never been handled by the public, never been shoved into a jukebox, and never been played on a heavy, scraping vintage turntable. They were produced by my great grandfather and were passed on to me in the original manufacturing boxes.
Selling individually in their original sleeves. See photos for condition. I combine shipping on multiple items and accept reasonable offers.
Here are the key details about this specific release:
• Release Date: 1965
• Record Label: The Rhythm Kings (Catalog No. 45-1211)
• Songwriter & Production: Written by V. W. Cross and produced by Porter Fender.
• Track Layout: "Strange World" serves as the B-side (or co-A side) to the track "Anything But My Baby".
• Historical Context: Wayne Cross was a mid-1960s country musician who recorded a handful of singles for The Rhythm Kings label alongside producer and musician Porter Fender. These pressings are relatively obscure regional country releases from that era.
• Storage Box: The background shows the record's dedicated storage box marked with the exact matching label and catalog number (RHY. KINGS 45-1211).
Manufacture information:
Monarch started out pressing shellac 78 RPM records. By the 1950s, they became a powerhouse for pressing 45 RPM singles—which they famously produced out of injection-molded polystyrene instead of traditional vinyl—and 12" LP vinyl albums.
***I’m also selling*** Other titles / listings from this artist include: “Hey Mr. Guitar Man”, “Afraid to love again” from 1206-1207 45 single, and “Put Another Dime in the Jukebox”, “Stranger in Black” from 1208-1209 45 single. (Also have a listing in my store of a 4-pack set that includes ALL 4 of the entire singles/library set of the songs recorded by Wayne Cross and the Rhythm Kings!)
