Vintage Oil Painting of

Led Zeppelin IV Album Inner Art Work, portraying Mysterious Hermit ! (Tarot figure)

\" The Hermit: Inside the gatefold sleeve, artist Barrington Colby drew a classic illustration of \"The Hermit\" from Tarot card imagery, holding a lantern, which was later famously featured during the concert film The Song Remains the Same. \"

More info :

\" The \"Hermit\" artwork on the inner gatefold of Led Zeppelin\'s fourth album (Led Zeppelin IV) was painted by artist Barrington Coleby (credited as Barrington Colby M.O.M.).

Artwork Details & Inspiration

Tarot Origin: The illustration was heavily influenced by \"The Hermit\" card from the Rider-Waite tarot deck (illustrated originally by Pamela Colman Smith).

Alternative Title: The piece is also known as \"View in Half or Varying Light\".

Hidden Image: If you hold a mirror up to the rocky side of the painting, the reflection reveals the shape of a black dog\'s face (a nod to their song \"Black Dog\").

Film Appearance: Jimmy Page famously brought the character to life years later during his fantasy sequence in the 1976 concert film The Song Remains the Same. \"

Here is Artist\'s interpretation of classic Zep Album artwork.
