Item Description

The Pleasers were a West London power pop outfit formed in 1977, releasing a handful of singles on Arista Records and contributing tracks to the celebrated Hope & Anchor Front Row Festival LP before disbanding — leaving behind a small but devoted cult following among British power pop collectors. Their studio recordings were first issued on CD in the UK in 1996, but it was this 2009 Japanese edition on Air Mail Recordings that finally brought the complete picture, adding ten exclusive Japan-only bonus tracks (tracks 15–24) unavailable on any Western release. This copy is factory sealed with original shrink wrap intact, accompanied by OBI strip and insert — an exceptionally rare find for any power pop collection. Notably, the band was managed by Chips Chipperfield, who later co-produced Grammy Award-winning long-form music videos for The Beatles Anthology and Jimi Hendrix\'s Band of Gypsys.

Why Japanese Pressings?

Japanese vinyl and CD pressings are highly sought after by collectors worldwide for three key reasons: superior pressing quality with exceptionally low noise floors, strict quality control standards unique to Japanese manufacturing, and exclusive bonus tracks, OBI strips, and liner notes not found on Western releases. Owning a Japanese pressing means owning the definitive collector\'s edition.
