Original UK 2011 release - CD-HAFTW008This CD is still as I bought it back in 2011/12. It has been carefully stored in a pet and smoke free home since then.The CD is still in the original plastic wrap, albeit it has been carefully opened on one side using the blade of a modelling knife. The cardboard case and all contents are in like new condition. The photos are of the actual item that I'm selling.According to AI: "The music on An Empty Bliss Beyond This World is a haunting, melancholic blend of dark ambient, plunderphonics, and avant-garde loop-based arrangement. Rather than recording traditional instruments, James Leyland Kirby constructed the entire album by sampling and heavily manipulating pre-World War II jazz and ballroom shellac records. The album is directly inspired by a medical study regarding the severe effects of Alzheimer's disease. The study highlighted how deep-set dementia patients who lose control of their recent surroundings can still vividly remember the music of their youth, along with corresponding specific memories, places, and emotions. Kirby attempts to mimic this specific neural breakdown using his music."
