This set was purchased new/sealed by me in 1978. Sometime in the late \'80s all of the paper sleeves in my albums, including this set, were replaced with poly lined sleeves. Removal of the records for play before that time resulted in some surface scuffing, leading to the mostly Vg+ rating. The outside of the cover definitely has shelf wear and ring impression consistent with a record almost 50 years old. This is evident in the back cover image 2. The inner cover seen in images 3 and 4 shows some aging of the white paper. The white now looks more like a cream color, but otherwise is in excellent shape. The paper on the poly sleeves, such as the one in image 5, also shows varying levels of foxing consistent with their age.
I ultimately preferred listening to \"All The World\'s A Stage\" and 2112, which I wore out years ago. As a result, this set got very little play time, especially the \"Caress of Steel\" disc, and none of the sides have been played at all for the last 15 years. For this posting I listened to a few select tracks from the \"Rush\" and \"Fly By Night\" discs to assess how it plays. From the tracks I played the sound is EX. The acid test was Rivendell from \"Fly By Night\" where there was some slight surface noise and an occasional tic during a a musically \"quiet\" track. Louder more musically dense tracks sounded fine except for an occasional tic. The vinyl has held up much better than the cover.
