Up for sale is a highly elusive, historically significant piece of Tennessee musical history: \"That’s The Kind Of God He Is\" by The Union Grove Combined Choir.Recorded completely live on location at the Union Grove Baptist Church (4100 Highland Avenue, Chattanooga, TN) under the direction of James Elder and Pastor W.D. Clark, this custom private-press album was produced in a very limited regional run for the local community and congregation in 1981.Production & Technical Highlights:Studio Label: Supreme Sound out of Chattanooga, TN.Recording Engineer: Legendary local audio icon Howard Levi.Matrix Numbers: Hand-etched 71280-A and 71280-B in the dead wax run-out, indicating custom pressing through Rite Record Productions.Musicians: Features James Elder (Keyboard), Douglas Leacock (Organ), Stanley Elder (Bass), Devin Prather (Drums), and Israel Synder (Drums), alongside notable leads by Rose Hicks, Ida Battle, Kitty Craig, and others.Condition Notes:Vinyl Disc: Visually clean with a strong original gloss. Displays a few very faint, superficial surface sleeve scuffs visible under direct light. The custom center labels are clean, bright, and free of any ink markings, stickers, or severe spindle wear.Jacket Cover: Protected and preserved inside its original factory clear outer shrink wrap (wrap is open at the mouth side). The front cover graphics remain bold and vibrant. Shows minor, expected age-related foxing/spotting on the exposed cardboard backing edges. No seam splits or structural collapses.
