RARE 1981 Presidential Medal of Freedom Charles Tex Thornton Sealed Record:
$65.00

Rare 1981 Presidential Medal of Freedom commemorative recording and memoir honoring Charles B. “Tex” Thornton, founder of Litton Industries. This unusual historical piece documents the Presidential Medal of Freedom ceremony held at the White House on October 9, 1981, during the Reagan administration.

Produced as “A Sentimental Litton Industries Memoir,” the package features historical photographs, Thornton’s Presidential Medal of Freedom citation, and additional period material. The reverse states that the White House recorded the awards ceremony in full and that the recording includes an introduction and concluding reflection by Col. Barney Oldfield.

Brand new and still factory sealed, making this an especially desirable surviving example for collectors of presidential memorabilia, Reagan-era history, Litton Industries, aerospace/industrial history, or unusual corporate records.
