Offered here is an original U.S. pressing of guitarist Phil Upchurch’s self-titled 1978 album on Marlin Records.

A strong late-1970s jazz-funk and soul-jazz release, the album includes Upchurch’s version of “Strawberry Letter 23”, along with “Free,” “Good Times,” “Church Street Music,” “It’s Almost 5,” “Fooling Around,” and “Cyrenna.” Phil Upchurch’s own discography confirms the 1978 Marlin 2209 release and track lineup.
