EXTREMELY RARE 1976 PAULA KAY – WISH I WERE SLEEPING IN YOUR ARMS TONIGHT LP – SIGNED – PRIVATE/PERSONAL PRESSING

VERY SCARCE 1976 REGIONAL COUNTRY LP — AUTHENTICALLY SIGNED BY PAULA KAY

Offered is an extremely obscure and difficult-to-find 1976 country LP by Paula Kay, Wish I Were Sleeping In Your Arms Tonight, issued on the little-known Seann Record Productions label, catalog #6857.

This is not a major-label commercial country release. Paula Kay Miller recorded and released the album herself through the tiny Seann label. Music historian Joe Sixpack’s research describes the album as a “vanity album” and notes that biographical information about Paula Kay is exceptionally difficult to find.

The Northwest Music Archives documents this exact 1976 LP as a 12-inch, 33⅓ RPM release on Seann Record Productions, catalog #6857. The same archive documents Paula Kay Miller’s earlier 1970 single and identifies her as one of the Reynolds Sisters.

WHY THIS RECORD IS SO UNUSUAL

* 1976 original pressing

* Extremely obscure regional/private-press country release

* Tiny/independent Seann Record Productions label

* Catalog #6857

* Paula Kay Miller — vocals

* Paula Kay wrote several of the songs herself

* Includes four compositions credited to Paula Kay Miller

* Her earlier 1970 single was released on Vanco Records

* She was identified on that earlier release as one of the Reynolds Sisters

* Very little biographical information about the artist survives today

* The album has been specifically documented by specialists in regional/obscure country music

* THIS COPY IS SIGNED BY PAULA KAY

The album is particularly interesting to collectors of 1970s country, regional country, private-press records, vanity pressings, obscure female country artists and American music ephemera.

AUTHENTIC ARTIST AUTOGRAPH

The front cover is personally signed by Paula Kay, making this substantially more interesting than an ordinary unsigned copy. The inscription appears to read “With Love, Paula Kay.”

This is a great example of the kind of obscure regional American record that can be overlooked because it was never distributed by a major record company and never received widespread national exposure.

A fascinating piece of 1970s country-music history and a very difficult record to encounter.
