In April of 1968 Jimi Hendrix was living at The Drake Hotel in New York. He was preparing songs for potential inclusion on the upcoming ELECTRIC LADYLAND album.Using his TEAC reel-to-reel recorder, he recorded himself playing demo versions of several songs.
These are the recordings he made.
It’s an incredibly intimate experience. You’re all alone sitting in Jimi’s room with him while he practices and sings songs he’s working on!
You can actually hear him flipping lyric sheets.
