"Central Heating" is the second studio album by Heatwave, released on vinyl LP in 1977 in the United Kingdom (GTO Records) and 1978 in the United States (Epic Records)."Central Heating" is a staple of the mid-to-late '70s dance era, combining tight musicianship with smooth vocal harmonies and groove-driven rhythms. "Central Heating", sold over a million copies within its first two years and spawned two massive hits: the high-energy dance track "The Groove Line" and the smooth, mid-tempo soul ballad "Mind Blowing Decisions".Most of the tracks were written by keyboardist and songwriter , Rod Temperton ( The Invisible Man) who would later achieve legendary success as the architect and songwriter behind Michael Jackson's "Thriller" and "Off the Wall".In the mid 70's Temperton met Johnnie Wilder (Always and Forever and lead singer from Ohio), who was stationed in Germany in the US military. They formed Heatwave and moved to England where the band debuted "Too Hot to Handle" the LP that took the UK and US by storm.The "Central Heating" LP marked the final performance of Rod Temperton as an official active member of Heatwave."Central Heating" was officially certified Platinum in the United States by the RIAA for selling over 1 million copies.TracklistSide 1
