Costandinos and The Syncophonic Orchestra — Romeo & Juliet (NBLP 7086 / NBLP 7086-AS / NBLP 7086-BS), composed and produced by Euro-disco pioneer Alec R. Costandinos (the mastermind behind Love & Kisses), arranged by Don Ray, featuring analog synthesizer programming by George Rodi, recorded at the famed Trident Studios in London, bearing official full-color Casablanca desert oasis center labels, housed in its original romantic picture jacket, and cut directly from first-generation analog master tapes.

  • Musical, Cultural & Disco Highlights:

    • An Undisputed Peak-Hour Conceptual Disco Monument: Costandinos revolutionized the disco album format by transforming William Shakespeare's classic tragedy into an electrifying, symphonically orchestrated dancefloor opera that swept to #1 on Billboard's Dance/Disco chart and became an enduring staple at Studio 54 and The Saint.

    • Track Breakdown:

      • Side 1 (A-Side): "Romeo & Juliet: Acts I & II" — an unbroken 16-minute side-long masterwork driven by sweeping live strings, soaring brass fanfares, pulsing bass, and shimmering disco-funk breaks.

      • Side 2 (B-Side): "Romeo & Juliet: Acts III, IV & V" — the thrilling 17.5-minute climactic conclusion featuring hypnotic synthesizer sweeps, powerful percussive rhythms, and dramatic choral vocal arrangements by The Birds of Paris.
