Highlights includePick Yourself Up,Waiter, Make Mine Blues,Incomparable(featuring Holman’s brilliant use of O’Day’s voice as a horn), andTime for Twowith Tjader’s Latin jazz group. The set includes the infamously obtuse vocal introduction to Let Me Off Uptown where O'Day presumes to enlighten Eldridge, who pretends ignorance of Harlem, about what was uptown.Mosaic’s package adds alternate takes and singles alongside a 32-page booklet with sessionography, rare photographs by William Claxton, Herman Leonard and Bob Parent, and essays by Will Friedwald and others.
