AL B SURE The Very Best hails from 2003 and isa 16-track CD (hole in UPC). Soft rockduring the new jack era was overflowing to the brim with talent, and Al B.Sure! was one of several male vocalists leading the way for a short period oftime. His confident delivery and smooth style made him to many a woman in thefront row the second coming ofTeddyorLuther-- and it all started the same waythat this compilation starts, with his smash "Nite and Day." The restof the CD works its way through the hits of his three releases, with a fewminor songs that would be considered filler here and there, but that shouldn'tdeter those unfamiliar with his works from picking this up. On the whole it's asolid survey of a man whose recording career was far more short-lived than manyof the ladies (and a few smooth-talkin' gentlemen) would have liked.
