Arthur Collins and Byron G. Harlan in this re-creation of a Minstrel show, with early Billy Murray singing a tenor solo.

Rambler Minstrel Company (featuring legendary pioneer recording artist Billy Murray)
Aliases:
Darktown Melody Makers, Victor Minstrel Company
Members:
Arthur Collins, Billy Murray, Byron G. Harlan, Steve Porter

"Waltz Me Around Again, Willie" was a massive popular music hit in 1906, composed by Ren Shields with lyrics by Will D. Cobb. It tells the humorous story of Willie Fitzgibbons, a tired clerk whose energetic girlfriend, Madeline Mooney, aggressively drags him around the dance floor
The chorus is one of the most recognizable melodies of the early acoustic recording era

"Waltz me around again, Willie, around, around, around!
The music is dreamy, it's peaches and creamy,
Oh! don't let my feet touch the ground..."

As all these Minstrel Show record, there is a rowdy crowd, blackface spoken sketches, a song ending in a chorus and applause
Byron G. Harlan opens the records with the formulaic "Gentlemen, be seated"

And here’s a proper transcription, so that all who listen to this can understand the act:

Opening Chorus (Wait ‘till the Sun Shines, Nellie): Wait ‘till the sun shines, Nellie, When the clouds go drifting by, my Nellie, We will be happy Nellie, don’t you sigh, Down lover’s lane we’ll wander, Sweethearts you and I-I, Wait ‘till the sun shines, Nellie, by and by. [cheers]

Comic Sketch: Porter: Gentlemen, be seated. [overture] Porter: Well Arthur, how are you tonite? Collins: I’m feeling very well Mr. Porter. Porter: By the way, I haven’t seen your brother Bill lately, what’s happened to him? Collins: Why Bill died, he died from eating clam fritters. Porter: Why how did he come to die from eating clam fritters? Collins: Well the Doctor said that he just frittered his life away. [laughter] Porter: Say Arthur, I see that you have your trousers on wrong. Collins: Aha-ha-ha, yes-yes, I was goin’ to a wedding reception this evening, and I’ma wearing back in the front just to get the bulge out of the knees. [laughter] Porter: Say, what’s become of those patent leather shoes you used to wear? Collins: Oh, I throw them away. Porter: Worn out? Collins: Mm, not exactly, but the patent expired! [laughter] Murray: Say Mr. Porter, can you tell me what is that goes around a button? Porter: Why certainly Billy, a button hole! Murray: No sir. Porter: Well what does go around a button? Murray: Why a, [bahh-ah-ah] a billy goat! [laughter]

Porter: This is Collins and Harlan will sing “Waltz me Around Again Willie”: Willie Fitzgibbons who used to sell ribbons, And stood up all day on his feet, Grew very spooney on Madeline Mooney, Who’d rather be dancing then eat, Each evening she’d tag him, To some dance hall drag him, And when the band started to play, She’d up like a silly, and grab tired Willie, Steer him on the floor as she’d say: [chorus] Waltz me around again, Willie, Around, around, around, The music is dreamy, It’s peaches and creamy, Oh! don’t let my feet touch the ground, Touch the gro-ound, I feel like a ship on an ocean of joy, I just want to holler out loud: “Ship Ahoy!” Waltz me around again, Willie, Around, around, around. [ovation]

Quick noteon grading:

The Grade (Excellent to Poor, I don't give Mint) refers to the WEAR of the record. Any other defects are stated separately

When I listen to a record, I may also give it an aural grade (again E to P), and make a SUBJECTIVE judgment of the pressing quality for hiss and surface noise.
"EXCEPTIONALLY QUIET" is close to noiseless, like a vinyl pressing.
"VERY QUIET" is anabove averagequiet record for a given pressing.
"Quiet" is a record that is a great example with some noise.

These judgments are SUBJECTIVE and will depend one the styli, phonograph etc. you use on your own equipment.
