Vintage 11 LP Lot #190: Comedy Records Variety- UNTESTED
Comments:
This lot contains a nice selection of vintage comedy records. Before spewing out disclaimers about unknowns, let me just say this. The records in this lot all look playable to me, otherwise the records wouldn\'t be in the lot at all.
There are 10 albums in this lot containing a total of 11 individual LPs. The Bloopers album contains 2 records.
This collection of LPs is sold As-Is.I did a visual inspection of each LP.THE RECORDS HAVE NOT BEEN CLEANED AND THE RECORDS HAVE NOT BEEN PLAY-TESTED.Even though I believe these records are probably playable, you never know for sure until you clean them up and give them a spin.It is certainly possible that some of them might not play well. Some little scratch that looked innocent enough might end up causing a skip or I may have missed seeing a warp or something else that causes trouble. At the very least, some amount of crackle, ticks, clicks and other record noise shouldn\'t be a surprise.
Please see the photos for the titles offered in this lot.
Visual Record Condition:The vinyl condition varies, but most of the records look really good. Five of the LPs are in Near Mint condition, One is in EX condition, Two are in VG+ condition. Two are in VG condition (Carlin - \"Toledo Window Box\" and Steve Martin - \"Comedy Is Not Pretty\"). One is in VG- condition (Carlin - \"Class Clown\") and might be more likely to present a problem than the nicer looking records. These are provisional grades of course since a final grade can\'t be assigned without a play test. The records are mostly still glossy. Some have light surface scuffs and some have light scratches. You should expect to have to clean most of these records to get the best sound and best playback. A couple may be pretty dirty.You\'ll see dust and maybe fingerprints and other spots before cleaning.Record Labels Condition:Varies, but most are fine.
Jacket Type and Condition:The jackets are generally in VG to VG+ condition - some better, some worse. Take a good look at the photos. Expect to encounter various kinds of defects such asmoderate to heavier general wear, creases, dents, edge wear, corner wear, seam splits, taped seams, writing, stains, foxing, moisture marks, saw-cuts, drill holes, clipped corners etc. Most of these LPs have writing, stickers or sticker removal marks on the back sides of their covers from a previous owners odd habits. You may notice a little faint, old-record mustiness in some.
Inner Sleeve Type and Condition:All of the records are in inner sleeves - about half of them original inners. Some are in new white paper replacement inners. Some of the inners that are originals show wear and aging.
Play Test Notes and Tips For Best Play Results:I did not play test these LPs.Some will sound better than others. Expect varying levels of record surface noise and you\'ll probably not be disappointed.
Getting better results by cleaning the LPs before playing:Before I play most old records that look a bit dirty, I usually clean them. If lightly soiled, a record cleaning cloth with some record cleaning solution might do the trick. But for dirtier records, washing works pretty well. It\'s not hard. Washing has the potential to affect labels, but doesn’t normally cause any harm. This is how I do it: Lay out a bath towel next to the kitchen sink and place a record on it. Add a little dish soap to warm water in the sink. Dip a soft cloth, suitable for record cleaning, in the soaped water and wring out much of the water. I use a record cleaning sponge that is designed to be safe for records. Gently rub the dampened cloth over one side of the record following the grooves in a circular motion as much as is needed to pick up dust and some fingerprints. Repeat for the other side. Rinse both sides with cool or warm (not hot) running water and place the record on a drier part of the bath towel. Use a hand towel to press the record gently from the top side to get most of the moisture off the labels and grooves. Flip the record and repeat the drying. Let the record stand for a while in a drying rack if you have one, or securely leaning against something while allowing air flow. Sometimes extra attention is needed to remove stubborn specks ...If You Run Into AProblem Playing A Record: Something that I have learned is that if a recordskips, sticks/repeats or has a few loud pops, the problem can often be fixed. Sure – if thecause is a bad scratch or gouge or a warp - there might not be much hope. But often thecause of the problem is a speck. Very small specks of sleeve dust or other tinydebris can adhere to an LP surface from the pressure of sitting jam-packed onthe shelf for years. These little specks can cause skips, sticks/repeats and loud pops. Thegood news is that a targeted drop of liquid and a soft record cleaning cloth will oftenremove such specks and restore play to normal or at least make things muchbetter. So don’t give up on a seemingly faulty record without executing acareful search and destroy mission to eliminate specks.
Shipping Notes:These will be shipped with the records inside of the jackets. As you can imagine, a stack of records this big is pretty heavy. The shipping costs reflect that weight. Several different shipping service options are available for you to choose from at check-out. I generally pack and ship items sold right away and hand them over to the post office at the earliest opportunity (sometimes same day, sometimes next day).
Please see the photos to check out the condition for yourself to the extent possible. Zoom right in and have a good look. Ask questions if you are puzzled by PICKUP RULES: If Free Local Pickup is offered for this item and you choose that option instead of an option to have the item shipped to you, there are a few rules to be aware of. We both have to allocate time to make a pickup work smoothly, so please understand the local pickup rules.
  1. Don\'t choose free local pickup if you are expecting the item to be shipped to you (obviously). That won\'t work.
  2. Don\'t choose free local pickup if you live far far away, but think you might be in the area someday. That won\'t work. Pickup arrangements will always be made for a specific date and time, very close to the purchase date. Please don\'t ask me to hold something for extended periods of time.
  3. Pickup arrangements will be made after payment is received for the item. I will specify a location to meet.
  4. Payment must be made through as soon as the item is purchased, just like for items shipped though USPS or UPS. No payments will be accepted in person. Failure to pay for the item in a timely manner may result in order cancellation.

If you need more time than that to pickup your purchase, we must make arrangements before the item is purchased. Orders not picked up in a timely manner, as described, are subject to cancellation and the item will be relisted for sale.

I promise to pack your item securely, no matter what it is. Everything I ship gets packed well, so don\'t worry about a thing.
If appropriate I will add insurance coverage. Sometimes I will add signature tracking (USA) when your item is shipped. Signature tracking ensures that the postal service doesn\'t leave your valuable item unattended on your doorstep out in the sun or rain - it has to be handed over face to face. If you order something rare and/or worth a bit, be prepared to have to accept delivery in person.

When multiple items are shipped together, I can almost always give you a better deal on the shipping cost compared to the individual shipping costs. I promise to give you the best rate possible based on the items purchased and the shipping method required.
For \"Buy It Now\" items (most of what I offer), simply add each item that you want to your shopping cart. When ready to commit to buying, request a total from me from your cart and I\'ll send an invoice as soon as I can.Since I\'m not a computer and I do other things like sleep and take the dogs for walks, you might not receive an immediate response, but I will get back to you as soon as possible. If you decide to pay for items you want individually instead of requesting a total from the shopping cart, I will promptly send back whatever money I can for a shipping discount.

    • Some items are not compatible for combined shipping.
    • Combining shipping might require changing the shipping method or increase packaging materials expense.
    • A few items that I offer are not eligible for combined shipping.
    • Of course it is ok to ask about combined shipping costs up front. You have to tell me exactly what you intend to buy and where it will be shipped. I can\'t always give an exact cost, but I can at least give you an estimate.
    • I reserve the right to limit the number or total value of items that I\'m willing to send in a single package.
    • For international sales I use \'s international shipping program. Combined shipping depends on the shipping program rules in place at the time of shipment. It is possible that no combined shipping discount is available for international orders.
