Modern English formed in Essex, England in 1979 and went on to release two consecutive albums, "Mesh & Lace" and "After The Snow," that are considered New Wave classics and are on many Top 10 lists of two of the Best Albums of the '80s.
"After The Snow" featured the New Wave anthem "I Melt With You," which is among the Top 500 songs ever played on U.S. radio. It not only dominated New Wave radio, a huge national radio format, but also dominated MTV, which was a huge video format. It seemed like you couldn't go anywhere and not hear this song.
