This white 10oz ceramic mug is decorated with a highly detailed hand drawn colour illustration of Jerry Garcia\'s Doug Irwin Wolf.

Doug Irwin was working for Alembic when he met Jerry. He was building a custom guitar, the first released under his own name.
Jerry purchased what was called Eagle and immediately asked Doug to build him another.
That guitar was Wolf and Jerry took delivery in May 1973. With a body core of purpleheart with the top and back from maple, Wolf has a laminated neck running through the centre of the body made from maple and purpleheart.
The fingerboard of gaboon ebony is bound with maple, purpleheart and ebony and inlaid with African ivory except for the first fret of mother-of-pearl. The neck is made smooth and fast as each fret slot is cut up to the outside of the binding.
The fret wires are notched at each end so only the top of the fret extends to the edge of the fingerboard. Pickups are mounted on a plate, allowing a variety of configurations. Wolf is equipped with a master volume and tone controls for each of the middle and front pickups and a five position Stratocaster type selector. Two sub-miniature switches control pickup coils and effects loop and there are two jack outputs.
Tuning machines and bridge are from Schaller. Hardware is all brass and chrome-nickel plated.
The peghead was originally faced with Brazilian rosewood with a peacock inlay but is now overlaid on both sides with maple and purpleheart. Jerry played Wolf extensively from 1973 through the 1970s until 1993.

The image has been dye sublimated onto the mug. This means the image is under the ceramic glaze and is dishwasher, microwave and UV-proof and with normal use will not scratch, crack, fade or peel.
The durable nature of this printing process makes this mug ideal for use in the home or recording studio.
