It was decided to feature quartet-type music with song stylings that werepredominate at the church during the 1940\'s and early 1950\'s.Mr. Bill Hart was assigned the task of getting a group together to presentthis program. The group he assembled for the homecoming program had never sungtogether before, but all had been members of other singing groups and most hadbeen involved in the style of gospel music that dominated the 1940\'s and early1950\'s.After singing at the homecoming activities, the quartet continued to sing atthe Nottingham Church\'s worship services and other church activities as well asat other churches and special activities in the area.Members of the original group were Bill Hart (lead), Ota Faust (alto), JoeTaylor (tenor). Jack Helms (bass) and Herb Smith (piano). The group remainedintact until Bill Hart\'s death earlier this year.
