Break Your Heart Barenaked Ladies
This is my first time attempting to write out chords and tablature so please bear with me. Here goes nothing.
The chords in the verse are G-Bm-C-D these are played in arpeggios from high to low
The chorus chords are Em-C-D-Am7-D
The Bridge part with "Whatcha think I was gonna....." there is a chord across the 5th fret, I am not sure of it's name but it is just a basic bar chord I will refer to it as an A , and D. G Bm C D The bravest thing I've ever done was to run away and hide, G Bm C D But not this time, not this time, G Bm C D And the weakest thing I've ever done was to stay right by your side, G Bm C D Just like this time, and every time
Fill #1 ------------------------------ ------------------2---------- ----------0~2-0------------ --0~2-0-------------------- ------------------------------ ------------------------------
Em C D I couldn't tell you, I was happy you were gone, Am7 D So I lied and said that I missed you while we were apart, Fill #1 ------------------------------ ------------------2---------- ----------0~2-0------------ --0~2-0-------------------- ------------------------------ ------------------------------ Em C D I couldn't tell you so I had to lead you on, Am7 D G But I didn't mean to break your heart
G Bm C D And If I always seem distracted, like my mind is somewhere else,
G Bm C D That's because it's true, yes it's true, G Bm C D It's this stupid pride that makes me feel like I have to follow through, G Bm C D Even half-assedly loving you,
There is a fill here I can't figure out (HELP!!)
Em C D Why must I always speak in terms of cowardice, Am7 D When I guess I should have just come out and told you right from the start? Fill #1 Em C D Why must I always tell you all I want is this? Am7 D G I guess cause I wouldn't want to break your heart, Bm A What'd youthink that I was gonna do curl up and die just because of you? D I'm not that weak you know A What'd you think that I was gonna do, Try to make you love me as much as I love you? D How could you be so low? G Bm C D You arrogant man, What do you think that I am? G Bm C D My heart will be fine......... Just stop wasting my time G Bm C D G And now I know you will be ok and that I've got what I want and that's rid of you Bm C D Goodbye G Bm C D And it's not cause I'll be missing you that makes me fall apart, Am7 D It's just that I didn't mean to break Am7 D No I didn't mean to break Am7 D G Bm C D No I didn't mean to break.....your heart.................................................. G Bm C D Your heart...................................
That's it, if there are any corrections or anything I left out please post it and e - mail me. Have fun. Claude Sawyer Csawyer23@earthlink.net NEW BARENAKEDVILLE http://home.earthlink.net/~Csawyer23
