Spread across 3 CDs and 1 Blu-ray the set includes CD1: the original album, now newly remastered by Bernie Grundman from the original analog tapes. CD2: Electric Ladyland: The Early Takes, which presents 20 never before heard demos and studio outtakes from this period in Hendrix’s career CD3: Jimi Hendrix Experience: Live At the Hollywood Bowl 9/14/68, part of Experience Hendrix’s Dagger Records official bootleg series. The never before released recording captures the band and the mounting excitement that took place just weeks before the release of Electric Ladyland Blu-Ray: includes the acclaimed full-length documentary At Last… The Beginning: The Making of Electric Ladylandplus a new 5.1 surround sound mix of the entire original album by Hendrix’s original engineer Eddie Kramer plus the original stereo mixes in uncompressed 24 bit/96 kz high resolution audio. Electric Ladyland Deluxe Edition includes a full color, 48-page book containing Jimi’s handwritten lyrics, poem and instructions to his record label, as well as never before published photos from the recording sessions that were shot by Eddie Kramer himself. All contained in a luxe casemade book with new cover art which is true to Hendrix’s original vision of the album’s cover: a Linda (McCartney) Eastman photograph of the band and children at the statue of Alice In Wonderland in New York’s Central Park.     Jimi's Electric Ladyland in 5.1!

    Eddie Kramer did a wonderful job of remixing this iconic album in 5.1. Listen to this album again for the first time! Eddie was able to reveal some detail that I couldn't hear in prior releases (the stereo release is quite good, but 5.1 is where it's at!). My only negative feedback would be the cardboard sleeves for the discs. They don't do a good job of protecting them from scratches as they slide in and out of coarse cardboard each time as opposed to being suspended in a plastic jewel case.

    Electric Ladyland by Jimi Hendrix

    The 5.1 is actually great the documentary is good fun , the remastered cds are no different to my ears, the book is really not needed so I would have been happy with a 5.1 surround disc by itself and the rest is for super fans and collectors

    Electric Ladyland...it’s all about the Bluray disc!

    The highlight of this set is def the bluray 5.1 mix. The outtakes CD has some gems on it but truth be told it’s all about that 4th bluray disc. The mix is great imo but hey! if your a Jimi fan I am pretty sure you’ll dig it! Enjoy!✌🏽

    This collection of music provides a revealing glimpse "behind the curtains" of the creativity, and what went into putting this masterpiece recording together (Electric Ladyland) that has more than stood the test of time. It is worth every penny spent to acquire this deluxe edition by this master musician, and a reminder of how truly gifted he was.

    Jimi Hendrix 50th annoversary of Electric Ladyland deluxe

    Well, what can you say. I bought the original album within days of its release all those years ago So I am well familiar with the album. But to have it in 5.1 bluray surround sound adds little nuances that were often overlooked on the vinyl pressing. The price I paid was much less than the list price, which made it even more attractive for purchase, as I already had almost all of the recordings in some other format. Hendrix has been mined for years, and there is very little that has not been unearthed. Still, to get a nice assortment in 1 place with relevant outtakes and live bits makes it a winner.
