Total Awesomeness in the Diverse City
I went to see TobyMac along with Kutless, Fireflight and Sidewalk Prophets at World PulseFest 2010 in South Bend, IN this summer, and I was blown away by TobyMac and the Diverse City Band. They were probably the best live act I have ever seen. So I had to buy the "Tonight" cd so I could listen to more of his stuff. I expected it to be good based on their concert and the radio hit "Get Back Up", but I was not prepared for how consistently incredible this whole cd would be. Starting with Tonight, this may be the best first track on any cd I have listened to. The second track is Get Back Up, one of the best songs I have ever heard, and one that ALWAYS puts a smile on my face when I listen to it. The third track, Funky Jesus Music sends us off on an old-fashioned ... Lets just say I listen to it over and over...its just a beautiful ballad and very well done. Track 5 is Showstopper, a great upbeat song. Song #6 is Changed Forever, and here they play a good, hard rocking number that always pumps me up!! Track 7 is Hold On, which recalls great raggae, Marley-esque thoughts. TruDog makes his appearance on Track 8 LoudNClear, a cute number. Track 9 Hey Devil, is a rockin good song that says I don't need your temptations. Track 10 Wonderin is a dreamy, light number that recalls the 80's to me. Track 11 Captured is a nice praise number. Track 12 Start Somewhere is a great number that seems Latin Jazz influenced, with a great message. Track 13 Break Open the Sky closes the cd with a raggae feel, and a little clowning around on Funky Jesus Music. This is just a great cd from start to finish. I can't stop playing it in my car!!! I listen to it just about every day. I can't stress enough the great range of musical genres that tobyMac and crew are capable of. They are incredible at Pop/Rock/Hip Hop, but are equally strong with Funk, Soul, Raggae and Jazz influences. By far one of the best CDs in my collection. A definite must buy. And yeah, make no mistake...you just might be influenced to God if you listen to the message in the songs.

Toby Mac is a great artist!
I love his music, and he is a great insperaction to other artists. He is one of my favorite christian singers and I love to let my kids listen to his music. It makes me happy when they sing to his songs.

Great CD
I think what made DC Talk so enjoyable to listen to for me, make this CD, "Tonight" even more so. A mixture of Rock, Pop & R&B. Great mixture of sounds with a great lyrics. Some songs are just plain fun and some songs have deeper social implications. Excellent modern feel with timeless love and Christian themes.
