Vintage LADOR SWISS MUSIC BOX - "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" & "PARADE OF WOODEN SOLDIERS":

This is a vintage wind-up music box in a lovely wooden case or box. The movement is vintage and marked "LADOR", made in Switzerland. It features a colored paper scene on the top, which is of a lake and mountains. This is likely in Switzerland. There is some wear to the scene but overall, it is in very nice condition.
Lador began producing music boxes in Europe in the 1880's. It continued through 1963. The company was one of the largest producers in the World and competed with other quality makers like Thorens and Reuge.The box has a wonderful golden patina to it. It features a hinged lid, which when opened reveal the musical movement with a glass top. There is also a metal button or slide switch to start and stop the movement.
The box plays two well-known tunes; "Happy Birthday" and "Parade of the Wooden Soldiers". It also has the number 6584 on the paper label.
It winds and plays very well, and it has a lovely tone.
The box measures about 5" wide and about 3.5" front to back.
