Vintage CLOVER musical powder compact / vanity case,believed to date to the 1950s and consistent with Japanese-made Clover musicalcompacts of the period. The interior is clearly stamped with the Cloverfour-leaf clover logo and marked PAT. 582938.A particularly charming feature is the built-in mechanical music box. It windsand currently plays properly. The melody is unidentified. The interior also hasthe original-style STOP control for the musical mechanism and a separate powdercompartment.The compact includes a beveled mirror. The mirror was detached whenphotographed; if it has been reattached prior to purchase, it has beenre-secured rather than represented as untouched original mounting.CONDITION: This is an authentic vintage vanity collectible showing considerableage and use. There is tarnish/oxidation, spotting, scratching, discoloration,finish/plating wear and interior residue.
