• Vinyl Condition: Very Good Plus (VG+) to Excellent (EX)
The vinyl retains a beautiful, high-gloss sheen with only a few faint, superficial paper scuffs visible under bright light. It has been well-preserved, which is uncommon for thin 1973 budget vinyl formulations. Plays clean and sounds fantastic.
• Jacket Condition: Very Good (VG)
The jacket is structurally sound and completely intact with no seam splits or writing. Shows honest age-appropriate shelf wear, light edge softening, and mild ring wear on the reverse side. Colors remain sharp.
Collectors Note: Rare Transitional Variant & Misprint Details
This copy is a highly collectible East Coast transitional first pressing manufactured at the Keel Manufacturing plant. It features a unique combination of early production errors and label updates that document a chaotic moment in 1973 music history:
1. The Arthur Smith Lawsuit Omission: This copy completely omits the songwriting credit for Arthur Smith on Track A1. This places the manufacturing of this record immediately after the film Deliverance debuted, right before copyright litigation forced Pickwick to change their print layout.
2. Jacket vs. Label Typography Discrepancy: The front cover prominent graphic credits "The Springer Brothers", while the Track 1 center label typography credits "Bob and Sam Springer".
3. Transitional Black Label: Features the scarcer solid black Pickwick center labels rather than the common light blue labels, indicating a transition batch using original 1973 metal stamper parts on updated paper stock.
