Excellent early Japanese Denon classical CD from the first generation of the compact disc era.

Otmar Suitner conducts the Staatskapelle Berlin in Schubert’s Symphony in B Minor, D.759, the celebrated “Unfinished,” coupled with Symphony No. 5 in B-flat Major, D.485.

This is the desirable original Japanese Denon issue, catalog 38C37-7156, manufactured in Japan by Nippon Columbia Co., Ltd. The rear insert carries the original ¥3,800 price and 1984 date. Attractive early Denon black-and-silver disc design with PCM Digital Recording logo.

The disc playing surface is exceptionally clean for a CD of this age, with only very minor signs of handling visible. Original front booklet and rear insert are included. Paper inserts show some age-related spotting/foxing, particularly visible on the rear artwork. Jewel case has normal storage wear.

A particularly appealing copy for collectors of early Japanese CDs, Denon/Nippon Columbia pressings, early digital classical recordings, Otmar Suitner and Staatskapelle Berlin.
