Here’s a piece of Television Entertainment of special interest to New Englanders, especially in the greater Boston area. This is a framed document featuring a photo of Rex Trailer of “Boomtown” fame along with his horse Goldrush, and the words to a son he wrote called “I appreciate you”.
Rex was the TV host of the children’s western themed program called Boomtown on WBZ channel 4 in Boston, which aired every Saturday and Sunday morning for about 20 years. He recorded several record albums and performed all over New England in person.
Together with his “sidekick” Pablo, Cactus Pete, or Sargent Billy O’Brien, he put on a show for the kids wherever he went that included him singing and playing his guitar, or “git-fiddle”as he often called it, and showing off his various cowboy skills including trick riding with Goldrush the horse.
He wrote the song “I appreciate you” in remembrance of 9/11/2001, and first performed it on 9/11/2002. This is a special collectible that was printed up for his appearance at a store called That’s Entertainment in Fitchburg, On Sunday 9/11/2011. The item is framed and ready to hang on your wall.
