Rare promo-only 1973 quadrophonic sound demonstration record for the Quadradisc company, released on the newly formed WEA trilogy, Warner Brothers, Elektra, and Atlantic, PR-186. This record was given out at stereo / hi-fi stores when someone bought a quad system, as a way for them to experience its capabilities and adjust the sound. The first tracks are test tones for sound adjustment, and the rest of the tracks are selections from the handful of quad records that had just started to be released, including songs by Aretha Franklin, Bread, the Doobie Brothers, Carly Simon, Seals & Crofts, Arlo Guthrie, Bette Midler, the Spinners, and prog-synth wizard Stardrive. This copy was mailed to a customer from the JVC company, as there is a sticker on the front saying so. Amazing sounding record. I have a quad system and this is just a great comp to hear. The disc is in beautiful condition and plays flawlessly. There is a superficial mark on side A but it doesn’t make any sound at all. No pops, ticks, or even light crackle. A perfect player. The cover is also nearly pristine, with only the tiniest signs of gentle use. A top copy. Hard to beat.
