Lot of 4 Vintage Edison Goldguss-Walze German Phonograph Cylinder Records Rare:
$60.00

Up for sale is a rare lot of four (4) original Edison Goldguss-Walze black wax 2-minute phonograph cylinder records. These hard-to-find cylinders were manufactured by the National Phonograph Company for the German market during the early 1900s (circa 1904–1907). Each record comes housed in its original red-topped cardboard storage tube container featuring beautiful vintage art nouveau labeling. The lot includes Edison 15087: "Still ruht der See" (Heinrich Pfeil) – Performed by the Rost'sches Solo-Quartett (Released 1904), Edison 15555: "Ehre sei Gott in der Höhe" (Dmitrij S. Bortnjanskij) – Performed by the Weihnachtsquartett (Released 1906), Edison 15812: "Rheinlied (Strömt herbei, ihr Völkerscharen)" (Johann Peters) – Performed by Opernsänger Carl Nebe (Released 1907), and Edison 15989: "Mein Heimattal" (H. Pfeil) – Performed by the Edison-Quartett. The cardboard tubes show normal vintage wear consistent with age, including some minor scuffs and edge wear, but the labels remain clear, legible, and vibrant. There are some stains and mold issues. The cylinders appear in good shape with no major plaster expansion or cracks which are immediately evident, though they have light dust, surface mold spots, and dings typical for antique wax records. Please look at the pictures to determine there condition and ask me if you need more, these are old! These are being sold as untested. Don't miss the chance to add these rare international variants to your antique phonograph collection!
