Original 1969 U.S. stereo Monarch pressing of “Swiss Movement” by Les McCann and Eddie Harris, released on Atlantic Records as SD 1537.
The green-and-orange Atlantic labels have the original 1841 Broadway address and “MO” matrix suffix, identifying manufacture by Monarch Record Mfg. Co. This is an early U.S. pressing, not a modern reissue.
Recorded live at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, the acclaimed soul-jazz album features Les McCann, Eddie Harris, Benny Bailey, Leroy Vinnegar and Donald Dean. Includes “Compared to What” and “Cold Duck Time.”
Included:
• One 12-inch stereo vinyl record
• Original Atlantic picture jacket
• Vintage Atlantic catalog inner sleeve shown
The jacket has substantial age-related discoloration and staining, particularly on the front and back, along with rubbing, edge and corner wear, creasing and small areas of paper loss. There is writing near the upper-right area of the back cover. The inner sleeve has age and handling wear.
Vinyl retains gloss with visible scuffs, scratches and handling marks. It has not been play tested and is not play graded. Labels show light spindle wear. No additional inserts or accessories are included.
