THESE ARE AWESOME!!!!Yes, they actually play! This fantastic set of six vintage cocktail swizzle sticks is topped with real working miniature harmonicas — quite possibly one of the most entertaining ways ever devised to stir a drink.Made in Japan and marked “Crown Japan,” each tiny harmonica has a red-painted wooden center, metal cover plates and two holes with two reeds, attached by a small metal loop to a long clear cocktail stirrer.Even better, this isn’t just obscure novelty barware: the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History has an example of this Crown Japan miniature harmonica swizzle stick in its permanent collection, part of the Peter Kassan Collection. The museum catalogs its example as a Japanese-made Crown miniature harmonica constructed of wood, metal and plastic. The clear stems are great in their own right, filled with intentional suspended air bubbles and tiny irregularities that give the acrylic an icy, effervescent appearance — especially fun once they’re actually in a cocktail.Set includes 6 matching Crown Japan harmonica swizzle sticks.Vintage condition with expected age-related wear, including patina/oxidation to the metal and minor surface wear to the clear stems. The bubble-filled appearance of the acrylic is part of their original design and character. Please see photographs for exact condition.A fabulous conversation piece for a mid-century home bar, vintage cocktail collection, tiki bar, music or harmonica collection, or collector of unusual Japanese novelty barware.Because really, why settle for a regular swizzle stick when you can stir your martini and then play the harmonica?
