KISS Animalize 1984 Mercury 1st Press PRC STERLING 822495-1 Heaven's On Fire VG+

Animalize was KISS's twelfth studio album, released September 13, 1984 on Mercury Records, and it became the band's biggest seller since 1979's Dynasty, going on to earn RIAA Platinum certification. The lead single "Heaven's on Fire" reached #11 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart and remained in KISS's live setlist for decades afterward. This is also the only KISS studio album to feature guitarist Mark St. John, who joined just months before recording began.

This is an original US first pressing on Mercury, catalog 422-822 495-1 M-1, pressed at PRC Recording Company in Richmond, Indiana (pressing plant code 72, printed on both labels).

Mastered at Sterling Sound, NY, credited to George Marino, who spent nearly 40 years at the facility mastering albums for artists including AC/DC, Bon Jovi, and Metallica.

Produced by Paul Stanley, with Gene Simmons as associate producer and Michael James Jackson producing the drum tracks.

Cover art blends cheetah, zebra, and tiger print into a single continuous animal-skin design, with the yellow KISS logo and red brushstroke "Animalize" script across the top. Labels are the standard black Mercury design with the red Mercury logo.

The printed inner sleeve carries full lyrics on one side and a photo insert of all four band members — Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Eric Carr, and Mark St. John — on the other.
