This privately issued Birmingham, Alabama 45 pairs Jo Ann Tyler with the All-American Band on two country standards, "Faded Love" and "Hurt." Prestige Productions was a Birmingham recording studio and record label founded in 1964 by Rick Maze and bassist-songwriter Kenny Wallis. The studio specialized particularly in country and gospel while also recording rock and other regional artists, and released a substantial catalog of local records from the 1960s into the early 1980s. Roger Hallmark (1946–2014), who arranged and produced this single, was an Alabama country singer, songwriter and musician who recorded for Stax subsidiary Enterprise in the early 1970s and later worked extensively with Prestige. Little documented information appears to survive about Jo Ann Tyler, making this 45 an interesting example of Birmingham's regional independent recording scene.
