NM:or, “near mint”. Record is in almost perfect condition, shiny with no visible defects, no writing, no surface noise when played, free of creases or ring wear.

VG+:may show some slight signs of wear, including light scuffs or scratches that do not effect sound when played. Minor signs of handling, very light ring wear or discoloration.

VG:or, “very good”. Obvious flaws, lack original gloss, groove wear is evident on sight, as are light scratches that are deep enough to feel with a fingernail. Surface noise and some scratches will be audible, but will not overpower the music otherwise.
