Musical, Cultural & Detroit Funk Highlights:
The Peak Detroit Funk & Disco Collision: Moving from their classic 60s Ric-Tic and Motown sweet soul roots into heavy late-70s P-Funk territory, the Fantastic Four teamed up with Dennis Coffey to produce this blistering dancefloor workout loaded with funky Clavinet riffs, fuzzy rhythm guitar chops, driving slap bass, and gritty vocal harmonies.
DJ Double-Sided Calibration: Cut identically across both Side 1 and Side 2 surfaces:
Side 1 (ST-DSKO-36150-PR Stereo): "Sexy Lady" (D. Coffey, J. Epps, C. Horne) — full extended 12-inch disco mix driven by heavy four-on-the-floor kick drums, bubbling synthesizer accents, brass stabs, and extended percussion breakdowns.
Side 2 (ST-DSKO-36150-PR Stereo): "Sexy Lady" — identical full-length master cut enabling club DJs continuous double-deck cuing and seamless looping.
Atlantic Studios / Presswell Audio Lineage: Cut loud with wide dynamic groove geometry by Terry Dunavan (©tgp), delivering thunderous low-end bass extension, razor-sharp transient attacks, and expansive headroom tailored for club sound systems.
Matrix / Runout (Side 1 Hand-Etched): ST-DSKO-36150-1 ©tgp (PR)
Matrix / Runout (Side 2 Hand-Etched): ST-DSKO-36150-1 ©tgp (PR)
