DEEP PURPLE Made InJapan Deluxe Anniversary Edition hails from 2025 and is a SEALED 5CD/Blu Rayset. On August 15, 1972, Deep Purpletook the stage in Japan for the first of three shows that would give rise toone of rock’s most celebrated live albums, MADE IN JAPAN.

MADEIN JAPAN (SUPER DELUXE EDITION) features new stereo and Dolby ATMOS mixes ofthe original by acclaimed producer Steven Wilson, all three concerts newlyremixed by Richard Digby Smith, and several rare single edits.

SingerIan Gillan, guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, keyboardist Jon Lord, bassist RogerGlover, and drummer Ian Paice—Deep Purple’s famed Mk II lineup—turned studiostaples like “Smoke On The Water,” “Highway Star,” and “Space Truckin’” intoexplosive live statements. “We came halfway around the world and found theaudience singing every word. It was magical,” Glover recalls in thecollection’s liner notes.

Theband enlisted engineer Martin Birch — who had worked on several of theirbest-known studio albums — to record the shows to eight-track tape at FestivalHall in Osaka and the Budokan in Tokyo. The performances on MADE IN JAPAN(SUPER DELUXE EDITION) capture Deep Purple at full throttle, powering throughsongs from their then-new album Machine Head, along with fan favorites like“Child In Time,” “Strange Kind Of Woman,” and “Speed King.” The collection alsoincludes rare single edits, like the German version of “Black Night” and theMexican edit of “Space Truckin’
