RARE & COLLECTIBLE VINTAGE REUGE “MOON RIVER” MUSIC BOXA beautiful vintage Swiss Reuge music box featuring the enchanting “River Fairies” imagery associated with Australian fairy artist Ida Rentoul Outhwaite.The moonlit scene depicts winged fairies traveling across the water in shell-like boats, one of the distinctive fairy-world images for which Outhwaite is known. The box contains an authentic REUGE Swiss musical movement from Sainte-Croix, Switzerland and plays “Moon River.” The movement has been tested and works perfectly.The wooden box opens to reveal a divided jewelry compartment with its original gold/yellow fabric lining. The exterior and artwork are exceptionally clean and well preserved.
