EntertainmentUS

Parachutes is the debut studio album by British rock band Coldplay, originally released on July 10, 2000. A landmark release in post-Britpop alternative rock, it quickly became a critical and commercial success, reaching No. 1 in the UK and selling over 13 million copies worldwide. It won a Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album and a Brit Award for British Album of the Year, cementing the band's place as one of the 21st century's biggest acts. The album's introspective and melancholic sound, driven by Chris Martin's falsetto and Jonny Buckland's atmospheric guitar, was a departure from the louder sounds of the era, helping to usher in a new wave of emotionally resonant guitar bands. Now celebrating its 25th anniversary, this 2025 reissue presents the album in a groundbreaking new format.

🎵 Album Highlights

This 2025 reissue is unique as it is pressed on a "Clear EcoRecord," a sustainable alternative to standard vinyl. The LP is manufactured using 100% recycled PET (rPET) plastic, with each record made from an average of nine recycled plastic bottles. This injection-moulding process not only reduces plastic waste but also cuts carbon emissions by up to 85% compared to traditional vinyl manufacturing. The record is a 140g clear pressing on the Parlophone label with the catalog number 5021732630865. The album will be re-released on August 15, 2025, as a worldwide release.
