Chicago Chicago IX Greatest Hits Vinyl LP 1975 Pitman 1st Pressing VG+.

Up for sale is an original 1975 US stereo first pressing of Chicago’s monumentally successful compilation milestone Chicago IX: Chicago's Greatest Hits (Columbia Records, PC 33900). Collecting the definitive tracks from their early catalog, this multi-platinum classic features their permanent radio standards and timeless arena anthems, including "25 or 6 to 4," "Saturday in the Park," "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?", and "Beginnings."

Authentic original Columbia Records Pressing Plant, Pitman first pressing, explicitly identified by the faint stamped capital "P" in the runout trail-off tracking loop. Sourced directly from premier first-generation masters, the deadwax displays the native tracking matrix string sequence: P BL 33900-2F. It features the highly unique, white custom typography center labels with the color illustration logo design on the left side. Housed in its authentic 1975 vintage single-pocket presentation jacket featuring the iconic, colorful "building painters" artwork layout. The record has been professionally processed using an ultrasonic cleaner and upgraded into a brand new, premium clear protective replacement inner sleeve. The music tracks were cleaned with absolute precision, strictly avoiding the deadwax runout to fully safeguard the integrity of the vintage paper center labels. The original custom inner sleeve is 100% included.

Condition (Media/Sleeve): VG+ / VG (Vinyl looks spectacular following its professional ultrasonic cleaning, displaying an absolutely gorgeous, deep black reflective factory mirror gloss across the play tracks under natural light with only a few faint superficial paper handling lines; its paths play with fantastic analog warmth and clarity. The outer vintage jacket is structurally sound and rigid, but shows typical vintage storage and liquid shelf wear. As explicitly captured in the daytime photos, there is noticeable corner softening, continuous seam rubbing, and distinct, light brown water-staining paths along the bottom edge borders on both the front and back panels. The internal paper lyric/logo inlay insert is included and completely intact with absolutely no seam splits, though it carries a matching light brown water-stain band along its bottom right corner quadrant as noted).

Pressing Details: US First Edition, Columbia Pitman Plant Press, Early -2F Matrix, White Custom Artwork Labels, Matrix Side 2: P BL 33900-2F.

Shipping: Ships securely in a dedicated heavy-duty cardboard vinyl mailer. The record will be packaged inside its new clear protective sleeve completely outside of the jacket cover and original printed inlay to prevent seam splits during transit.

Note: This record is part of a collection of 1,300 albums inherited from my late father, safely stored away for the last 7 years. I am grading them visually under bright light. They have been professionally enhanced via an ultrasonic cleaner and upgraded with clear inner sleeves to guarantee premium playback condition.
