Authenticantique American rope tension drum featuring a patriotic eagle motif andoriginal period construction. Likely dating from the late 19th to early 20thcentury and constructed in the style of earlier military field drums. Possiblyintended for parade, cadet, ceremonial, or patriotic use.This example retains strong folk-art appeal with its original painted eagledecoration, aged surface patina, rope tension construction, and survivingleather ears. The drum presents beautifully as a decorative Americana objectwhile also reflecting the style of early American military field drums.Construction features include:
• Wooden shell with patriotic eagle decoration
• Rope tension system with iron hooks
• Leather tension ears
• Natural skin drum heads
