aldog@concentric.net claims that his version of "Tired of Sex" is correct, but I have to disagree. He's posted the verse, but there's a lot more to the song than that.
"Tired of Sex" by Weezer from the album "Pinkerton." Tuning: Tune to Eb (Eb, Ab, Db, Gb)
Here are the three main parts of the song: Gb ----------------------------------| Db ----------------------------------| verse Ab --------5---5-7-5-----------------| Eb --3--3------------8-7-------------|
Gb ----------------------------------| Db ----------------------------------| chorus A Ab ----------3-3-3-3-5-5-5-5-7-7-7-7-| Eb --3-3-3-3-------------------------|
Gb ----------------------------------| Db --5-5-5-5-------------------------| chorus B Ab ----------3-3-3-3-5-5-5-5-7-7-7-7-| Eb ----------------------------------|
Bass intro: Eb ---/10\--- (slide up to the 10th fret on the E string, then slide down and start the first verse.)
Play verse 10x
Chorus: A A B
I guess you could call this a "post-chorus" (played right after the first chorus):
("Why can't I be making love come true?") Gb ----------------------------------------| Db ----------------------------------------| Ab -----------3--2-------------------------| Eb --1-1-1-1--------5----------------------|
Play verse 10x
Chorus: A B A
Post-chorus: ("Why can't I...") Very fast after you hit the high E. Gb --------------------------------------------------------------| Db --------------------------------------------------------------| Ab ------------3333-2222-----------------------------------------| Eb --11111111------------55555555/12 12 12 12/19 19 19 19--------|
Solo: Play verse 4x
Chorus: A B A
The B chorus is different here. From what I can tell, Matt slides between the 5 and 7 on the A string, like this:
Gb ----------------------------------| Db --5-5-5-5-------------------------| Ab ----------3-3-3-3-5-5-5-5-/7\5/7--| Eb ----------------------------------|
Followed by the final post-chorus:
Ritard (slow down...) Gb ----------------------------------| Db ----------------------------------| Ab -----------3--2-------------------| Eb --1-1-1-1--------5--0--7----------|
Outro:
Eb --3/10\-3/10\---
Then the verse 4x and end on the G.
So, the basic layout of the song would be:
Intro Verse Chorus Verse Chorus Solo Chorus Verse (Outro)
That, my friends, is the bass tab to "Tired of Sex." At least, I think so. But, if you don't agree, or you just want to praise me for my wonderful piece of work, send any comments/questions/corrections to:
