Mothership Connection -- the aboslute "must have" of all Parliament albums!
This is the quintessential Parliament album. Yes, there are very familiar songs from various albums; however, you'll never find so many P-Funk (Pure Funk, Uncut) classics on any individual album. For horn lovers, Fred Wesley is too funky on the first cut, P-Funk (Wants to get funked up). Following it comes the "Mothership Connection" which can only be eclipsed by the live version when Glenn Goins sings "swing down, sweet chariot stop, and let me ride." "Unfunky UFO" is excellent and leads into "Supergroovalisticprosifunkstication" which rocks as well. My personal favorite, which most non-funkateers are unfamiliar with, is "Handcuffs." Glenn and George Clinton take you to church on this one. It truly has a gospel sound with an edgy ... This is the quintessential Parliament album. Parliament is Good to the Last Drop!
Parliament is still GOOD! I couldn't help myself when I saw the CD. I like grooving with them! I definitely like Great Bands like Parliament. I just Love good rhythm in music. They are AWESOME! I will always buy their music every chance I get. I love to dance and groove to good music ALL DAY LONG! It's a Great Feeling!
