    Every song is a gem.

One of the greatest groups of the '60s...helped to lead the path to CSNY's awesome music. Every song they do is special. Maybe they weren't Billboard hits, but fans of real music can recognize the quality of the lyrics and the musicianship.

  • Buffalo Springfield - Buffalo Springfield (CD 1985)

I bought this CD as I remebered the extreme talent of this short lived band that spawned 2 of rock and roll's big names, Niel Young and Steven Stills. On a not as famous level Richie Furay had some success with Poco. I was about 16 when this group rivaled the Beatles in my listening hours because of the great guitar parts and vocals. A friend recently sent me a You Tube video of Springfield and I wanted to relive those days even if it was only through the music. The recording of a couple of the tunes reminded me of how analog would distort when pushed and there was one that the mix was poor on the vocals. I remembered that from the past and the 1985 CD had the same anomaly. Stereo imaging was interesting as the lead vocals would come through one side and the lead guitar through the ...

  • Neil Young and Steven Stills forge a new sound

Two absolutely classic songs............"For What It's Worth" and "Nowadays Clancy Can't Even Sing" highlight this first album. Neil Young, Steven Stills, Dewey Martin, Richie Furay, and Bruce Palmer carved out some new Rock-Folk-Country territory with a bunch of well crafted songs with meaningful lyrics. "For What It's Worth" is still powerful and more relevant than ever. Quite simply one of the best protest anthems ever recorded.
