The organ music of Dietrich Buxtehude is not solely an interesting precursor to the music of his later greater admirers but is a body of work full of beauty in it's own right. These vibrant illustrative even exuberantly virtuosic organ works are here tackled admirably by Simone Stella on a modern Italian instrument which magically captures the colors of Danish organs.

    Excellent performance; not sure what's wrong with my CD's though

    These are excellent performances and interpretations by Mr. Stella! Unfortunately I can't give as much praise to the physical product I received... First, the CD case I received was cracked, probably during shipping (was still shrink wrapped). Second, I physically had to pry a couple of the CD's from the case. I almost cracked disc #3 trying to get it out. Lastly, several of the CD's have pops and static on some of the tracks. This was a very affordable purchase of a 6 CD set through eBay, so I guess I got what I paid for....

    Stunning!

    great quality product! Stella is one of the best experts in german baroque music, these performances are really stunning, absolutely fine taste in ornamentations and original in stops choice, not many other boring harpsichordists who use only 8'
