The disc that attracted the masses. Nice bonus 'West L.A. Fadeaway, though.
This is the disc that attracted the masses which began the incredible popularity of the Dead. Maybe not a bad thing but it certainly put a different spin on the crowd and the atmosphere as the numbers swelled to an almost unmanageable number. I purchased the cassette of 'In the Dark' in '87 to get 'My Brother Esau', which of course is on this disc. I really like the '84 'West l.A. Fadeaway', nice and slinky and a good example of later day Dead music. Great studio sound as well, as most of the Grateful Dead that I listen to is live.This is the disc that attracted the masses which began the incredible popularity of the Dead.
