I bought this album when I was living in Santa Monica, CA back in the 60's, and I always loved the music of Steven Stills. Now I can play this CD of his anytime I want to in my car! Ron

This is a great compilation, as good as anything the Beatles ever did. Deeper than The Byrds, more introspective than The Rolling Stones, as colorful and creative as Sgt. Pepper. Several emotional tracks, some romatic like Kind Woman and some militant like Broken Arrow. Confirms that 1967 was the pinnacle of creatvity and genius of the 1960s in music. Stills actually peaks here while Neil Young has more peaks and valleys during the next decade. The work opens with a classic and Richie Furay steal the album with the 4th slot. Lots of alternating between Stills and Young keep it strong through the finish. For me, this was a previously undiscovered classic. I was a Neil Young fan with Harvest Moon, but appreciated the 1970s more with Jackson Browne. Buffalo Springfield is the grandfather of country/southern rock including Browne, The Eagles, Skynyrd, Allmans. Much easier to listen to that Sweetheart of the Rodeo by The Byrds. Glad I got it on CD because if it was vinyl it would be worn out already.Read full review

If you are a baby boomer you probably already know and love this music. If you are of a younger generation you might want to include this one in your listening. It is a classic. Every cut is worthwhile and then some.

This is a great CD, the music is great and the message in For What its Worth is just as powerful as back in the 1060's Sammmmmmmmmmmbc There's something happening here What it is ain't exactly clear There's a man with a gun over there Telling me I got to beware I think it's time we stop, children, what's that sound Everybody look what's going down There's battle lines being drawn Nobody's right if everybody's wrong Young people speaking their minds Getting so much resistance from behind I think it's time we stop, hey, what's that sound Everybody look what's going down What a field-day for the heat A thousand people in the street Singing songs and carrying signs Mostly say, hooray for our side It's time we stop, hey, what's that sound Everybody look what's going down Paranoia strikes deep Into your life it will creep It starts when you're always afraid You step out of line, the man come and take you away We better stop, hey, what's that sound Everybody look what's going down Stop, hey, what's that sound Everybody look what's going down Stop, now, what's that sound Everybody look what's going down Stop, children, what's that sound Everybody look what's going down Buffalo Springfield - For What It's WorthRead full review
