This is a great little vintage Ohio Turnpike tourist item someone must have picked up along the way I believe back in the 50s or 60s. Great little historical piece of both Ohio Turnpike tourism, as well as how tourism pieces during that time were still being adorned with Native American culture. Measuring 4” high x 3 1/4” around, the drum itself is made of a strong heavy cardboard covered in a printed paper with images of both a Native American Chief and a Native American paddling in a canoe. Along with both images is the wording “Ohio Turnpike”. I\'ve lightened my pictures somewhat to more clearly show the details of the artwork on this little drum. Colors are actually somewhat darker.Top and bottom of drum is stretched with a medium weight rubber which actually gives off a little drum sound when struck. Lacing is a burgundy red plastic covered nylon, somewhat frayed and cracked simply from age of the item. Very nice little item to add to your collection whether it be focused on Native American, Americana or travel collectables and memorabilia, or simply having great memories from traveling that great ole\' Ohio Turnpike.
