Vintage WOODEN MUSIC BOX Switzerland. Plays Schweizerklange (Swiss Sounds). Uncommon find! The box is in good overall condition, and the music mechanism does work well. The song label is affixed. It is stamped "Made in Switzerland ". The photo on top is very faded and has scuffs. The hinged lid is excellent. The cover to the mechanism box was removed and is not nailed at the corner. I am selling as is so that you can inspect the mechanism without removing the cover again. There is a wire that is not wound around the nail in the hinged lid. I believe it starts and stops the music when the lid is opened and closed when it is properly attached. I am guessing pre-1940.

There is also a personal label attached by an owner, H. Gut, Luzern. It says "papeterie" (case or box containing paper and writing materials).

I purchased this box at sale. The estate was of some avid travelers, and many items from Europe were included. This is a lovely item and would make an excellent addition to a music box lover's collection!
