This vintage Fred Zimbalist musical brass and silver plate trinket or candy box features an intricate bird and floral motif on a stylized heart form. The box has a branch and leaf accent with a hand painted decorative interior. The interior features two colorful birds perched on a tree. The scene depicts mountains and trees in the background with a divided dish as the heart shape base. Although I\'m unable to identify the tune, it has a lovely Thorens movement and melodic sound.The surface has dulled slightly from age and the interior picture has some minor wear around one screw and the turnkey. Otherwise its in very good working condition. The candy or trinket box measures approximately 6 1/2\" wide x 7 1/2\" long x 3 1/2\" high.
